Different granite has its origin from Brazil so most of the granites got Portuguese names which are the language spoken in Brazil.

Most of the granites you may be heard of containing the name Juperana which is taken after the lake Juperana in Brazil. Same, Brazilian granite Copacabana is named after the famous beach neighborhood of Rio De Janeiro.

Brazil is not just the reason behind these names, other places also, such as Baltic brown granite that comes from The Baltic Sea and is extracted in Finland.

Some of the companies that manufacture and polish that stone named those granites that sound good and expensive. Such example is of Giallo Veneziano Granite from Brazil, Veneziano means Venice in Portuguese and Italian.

Many types of granite got their names from the Italian and Portuguese language. We can take an example of Giallo family of granites. Giallo is the word which means yellow in Italian. So the whole meaning is a yellow flower.

The other word which is very commonly used is Persa which means exotic any language. Since many types of granite are designed in Italy and Portuguese so these got the names according to them.
